Do you ever wonder when did you get so serious? Do you miss the good old days? Do you lack fun in your life? About half of Americans say they don’t have enough fun. Join me on a mission to prioritize fun in our lives and why the lack of fun is detrimental to our well-being. This weekly podcast pivots between solo episodes and guest interviews. I, either, talk about a fun activity that I did or explore ideas around why fun can be so elusive. I hope to inspire you to explore ways to incorporate more fun in your life.

"Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones." Thich Nhat Hanh

The Bell Jar

Valerie David is an actor, playwright, writer and editor. Her greatest accomplishment in life is being a THREE-TIME cancer survivor. Valerie was diagnosed and treated for Stage III Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1999, Stage II Breast Cancer in 2014 and 2015, and Stage IV Breast Cancer in 2018. As of April 2019, she has beaten cancer again! Valerie reactivated her superhero within, and exactly 5 months after receiving hormone treatment only in pill form–no surgery, no radiation, no chemotherapy, Valerie no longer has active disease. There is no trace of her cancer. Valerie has kept up a full schedule of performances–nothing has stopped her. Valerie’s inspirational solo show, The Pink Hulk, has been accepted into more than 60 different play festivals worldwide since its 2016 debut, won multiple awards and has been touring since its very first performance, impacting audiences with the show’s universal message of hope and empowerment. She has performed in over 25 different cities and globally, including in England, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland. She is a true superhero.
In this episode, Valerie and I have a heartfelt conversation about thriving through life even in the hardest of times.
